1. The short version

This site has no contact form, no newsletter sign-up and no account system. Nothing here asks you for personal data. If you email us, we hold that email. If you accept analytics on the cookie banner, we see aggregate usage. That is the whole picture; the sections below just spell it out.

2. What we collect

Emails you send us

The only way to contact us is to email [email protected], so we hold whatever you choose to put in that message — typically your name, your email address and a description of your infrastructure problem. Those emails sit in our own mailbox and are read by the engineers who would do the work. We do not copy them into a CRM or a marketing platform, and writing to us does not add you to any list.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours records requests: IP address, timestamp, URL requested, response status, referrer and user agent. These exist so we can diagnose errors, measure load and investigate abuse. They are not used to build profiles of individual visitors.

Analytics, only if you accept them

Google Tag Manager is not present in the page until you choose “Accept all” on the cookie banner. Choose “Essential only”, or ignore the banner, and no analytics tag is ever requested and no analytics cookie is set. Your choice is stored in localStorage under a single key, cookie_consent_cloudroute_v1, holding the value all or essential and nothing else. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.

What reaches no third party at all

Our web fonts are served from this domain rather than from Google Fonts, so simply reading a page here contacts no external service. There are no advertising pixels, social widgets, session-replay tools or chat widgets on this site.

3. Why we hold it, and on what basis

Data Purpose Basis
Emails you send us To answer your enquiry, scope work and keep a record of what was discussed Legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry you started
Server logs Diagnosing errors, measuring load, investigating abuse Legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure
Analytics Understanding which technical articles are actually read Your consent, given on the banner and withdrawable at any time

4. How long we keep it

Correspondence is kept while an enquiry is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can pick up a conversation you return to. Server logs are short-lived and rotate. Analytics data follows the retention configured in the analytics product and is aggregate rather than identifying.

5. Who we share it with

Our hosting and infrastructure providers process data on our behalf as part of running the site. If you accept analytics, Google processes that data under its own terms. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing, and we do not enrich it from data brokers.

6. Your rights

You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. California residents have rights under the CCPA and CPRA including access, deletion, correction and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. Residents of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws, and visitors from the EEA and UK, have closely equivalent rights and can use the same route.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected] from the address you contacted us on. We acknowledge within one business day and complete the request within 45 days, extending once only where a request is genuinely complex — and we will tell you if that happens.

7. Security

The site is served over TLS, and access to correspondence is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say that plainly than imply otherwise.

8. Children

This site is aimed at infrastructure professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

9. International visitors

We are a United States business and our servers are located in the United States. If you contact us from outside the US, your message is processed there.

10. Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the effective date above and, where the change affects consent, ask again through the banner.
